The following data is valid for commander without any equipment.
(Double checked and verified 100%)

This is only a suggestion. There may be better attack formations, with fewer losses.

Just made this account to post that this spy on the dragon is not up to date.
Here is a link to what it should be. http://www.hostpic.org/images/1312081321090097.png
It’s exactly the same.
I don’t see any difference.
Cleaners can be used now.
hey man, it seems you didnt fill out the best attack for for the dragon.
Might want to fix that
Left: Full Ranged Soldiers for at least two waves Max scaling ladders in each.
Center: Three tool eaters for the first three waves, full ranged or melee with max mantlets for 4th wave.
Good luck!

Thanks, i added the info.
That setup doesn’t work.
You don’t need maximum scaling ladders in left. You only need 17 or 18 ladders with that setup without equipment on the commander.
I used this attack exactly as stated using vets and I lost.
Yep this setup didn’t work for me. I used KG’s with the Nomad gear on the commander and I lost. 🙁
There is a way easier attack pattern. Use a 90 ranged, 110 wall (do not use less than a 50 ranged, 0 wall) commander, all 3 flanks, 3 suicide waves, then on the flanks use 20 manlets (or cast-iron manlets), and in the middle use 25 manlets and 5 rams. What troops you use for the suicide waves doesn’t matter, but in the middle use only ranged attackers (at least heavy crossbowmen, but preferably vets).
The same attack pattern also works for desert fortresses.
Flanks: no VladShev, you need ladders there, not mantlets. Defence are melee units.
take a coman whit 90 range and 110 wall and 100+ in the yard and then the middel whit 38 mantlets and 2 rubies the on whit +10 on then you will loos only 31 and down
attack with strong commander, above 60/60, and veterans, you must have between 50 to 85 losses.
Its works by me.
1st wave: left 100% ranged attackers and 30 ladders,center: 1 range
2nd wave: left 100% ranged attackers and 30 ladders, center: 1 range
3rd wave: center: 1 range
4th wave: center 100% ranged attackers and 40 mantlets
I take the dragon always:
Wave 1: Left wall tools what needed, and full strong distance soldiers. Center: Wall and gate what needed, and 210% shieldprotection, and full with strong distance soldiers.
Wave 2: Same as 1.
Wave 3: Same as 1.
Wave 4: Same as 1.
With a strong commander, like the one from the last Ice-event, you wil get at least 40 casualties but you wil win every time!
The tools from wave 2/3/4 wil come back to your castle, i’m to lazy to remove them from the preset. 😉
Goodluck!
And with at least 40 casualties i mean: around the 40 it’s depends on the commander. With my second best commander i will get 43 or 45 casualties.
